My Series of Unfortunate Events

During the week of Labor Day my finger started getting red. Then it starting hurting. The weekend I left for Dallas/Austin my finger appeared to get infected, with redness slowly traveling down my finger.

I arrived in Austin on Sunday night and went to the doctor Monday. This was the first time I had been to the doctor in at least 4 years. The doctor gave me antibiotics and vicodin. Why he gave me 20 vicodin, I’ll never know. He said to take a vicodin, soak my finger, and massage my finger.

Tuesday morning I am putting my crap in the car, it is raining. My ankle starts itching and I don’t think anything about it. I pull out of the driveway and realize other parts of my legs are itching. I stop the car and see that there is a swarm of fire ants on both of my shoes, ankles and calves. It’s still raining outside but I have to throw my shoes off and try to get as many ants off as I can.

Fast-forward to Tuesday night, I am taking my friend’s dog out with her. Keep in mind it was raining that day. We climb up this tiny steep hill. I fall on my butt and also scrape up the hand with the infected finger. In addition to that, my friend wanted me to help her secure her wireless network. 2 hours later at 11 PM I finally get the dang thing back to just working and it is not secured. I was hoping to get home early that night to nurse my many wounds…and maybe take a vicodin.

Wednesday I wake up and my fire ant bites look horrible. Thankfully I was already on anti-biotics from the finger.

That weekend was ACL and that went very well…no falling, no ants, no wrecks, nothing.

Sunday night we are driving from Austin to Dallas. I get pulled over for supposedly going 19 mph over. It’s a $220 ticket. I can’t do the defensive driving option because I no longer have a Texas license because Walker made me get a Georgia one!

For some reason I had awful luck last week. Thankfully it is beautiful in Atlanta right now and nothing bad has happened…yet…
