Of bacon and bits

My site of oh-so-much importance.

This weekend was full of ridiculousness, both food and otherwise. Friday we went to this really odd gallery opening at the Lowe Gallery. There were old people there dressed in tuxes and people like us dressed in jeans. There were shirtless dancing men on tall white blocks and there was really loud techno music. Saturday we went to this awesome place called Cowtippers. It is in the gay part of town so it seemed perfectly normal for there to be house music playing in a western themed restaurant. I had a steak there and Walker had this amazing grilled chicken. You would think grilled chicken would be healthy, right? WRONG.

Southwest “Georgia” Chicken - Boneless chicken breast topped with peach BBQ sauce, ham and pepperjack cheese served with your choice of side.

That thing was amazing…and so was my steak. We ate that around 6 PM. We then went to a coffee house to see a girl we know sing. After that we went to this gelato place which had great gelato but they only took cash. Because of this Walker and I had to share. If you go to that site, the guy on the main page is the owner and is always there. He is really nice and funny. Since we couldn’t get enough gelato there, one of our friends recommended we all go to another gelato place in the same area. So we packed up and headed there only to find it out of business. The obvious next choice…Mexican restaurant across the street! Keep in mind we already had a giant dinner earlier and gelato. So at the mexican place I had a big sopapilla a la mode and a margarita. Walker had an enchilada and queso. We ended up spending $60 that night on food alone!

And if Saturday wasn’t bad enough, today we ventured out to Dreamland BBQ after seeing it on The Food Network. There I had the rib plate which included about 8 ribs, a bowl of mac and cheese, and a whole corn on the cob. Walker ate 2 of my ribs but I ate the rest. We then decided to cap off our gluttonous weekend by getting a peach cobbler a la mode. I think this was the first time were the words “a la mode” were a part of my weekend twice.

I don’t think we will eat like that in a long while. I plan on going on a “diet” soon so this was my last hoo-rah.
